It is not the ultimate goal, but it's a trophy, nonetheless.
Floyd County won the championship game of the Marion Invitational on Monday night by a 73-58 score over Marion.
The Buffaloes jumped out to an early 22-6 lead. Marion cut it to 50-41 midway through the third quarter, but Floyd County junior forward Jason Dalton hit a 3-pointer to pretty the outcome.
Junior guard Travis Cantrell scored 36 points and had five 3-pointers to lead the Buffaloes (7-0). Dalton scored 16 for Floyd and senior Derek Saunders had seven points and grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds. Cantrell also had six assists.
Austin Dexter and Leon Rasnake scored 12 apiece to lead the Scarlet Hurricane (7-1).
