JENNIFER C. WILLIAMS of Roanoke has been inducted into the Golden Chain Honor Society at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
The Golden Chain recognizes students for outstanding achievement and service to the university.
ERIC A. WALROND, son of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Walrond III of Roanoke, was recently named the 1996-97 recipient of the Robert "Guts" McLelland Scholarship at Roanoke College.
Walrond, a freshman at Roanoke College, graduated from Cave Spring High School.
IVAN HERMAN of Roanoke, along with his fellow Chi Rho members from Wake Forest University, sang at the White House on Dec. 15.
The all-male Christian singing group sang Christmas music for the White House staff and Cabinet members.
LUCRETTIA N. HOLLAND of Roanoke was inducted into the Winthrop University chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, a national honor society, at its fall initiation.
