This month Blacksburg will accept new applications for inclusion in the town's Agricultural and Forestal District. The district is designed to protect and enhance agricultural lands with valued natural and ecological resources. Eligible properties include those that are currently being farmed or where forestry is the main use. Other restrictions based on location apply.
Property owners who have land-use value taxation from Montgomery County, and who successfully apply for the Agricultural and Forestal District in Blacksburg, will then qualify for the land-use value tax break from the town.
