SO?!!

If you'd like to express your creativity and have an opportunity to win a savings bond and a free trip to our nation's capital, the U.S. Savings Bond National Student Poster Contest might be just your ticket.

The U.S. Department of the Treasury's Public Debt bureau is sponsoring the contest for fourth-, fifth- and sixth-graders. The winners, one from each state, will provide the artwork for the 1998 savings bonds campaign and will compete for top honors in the contest.

The first-, second- and third-place national winners will receive savings bonds worth $5,000, $2,000 and $1,000 respectively. The three winners, along with a parent or guardian, will be flown to Washington, where they will be honored at a special ceremony. The top three entries from each state will win savings bonds, also.

Deadline for entries is Feb. 7. For more information on how to enter the contest, visit the Public Debt's Internet home page (http://www.ustreas.gov/treasury/bureaus/pubdebt) or write: National Student Poster Contest, Bureau of the Public Debt, Savings Bonds Marketing Office, Room 331, 999 E. St., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20226.
