A 34-year-old Southwest Roanoke woman was hit in the face and robbed Sunday night by a man who first asked her if she wanted to buy drugs.
Police said Donna Hairston told them she was coming out of a store at Chapman Avenue and 13th Street about 8:25 p.m. Sunday when two men standing nearby approached. One asked her if she wanted to buy some crack. When Hairston refused, the man hit her and took $15 in cash she had in her hand. The man then drew a small pistol.
Hairston's boyfriend was in a nearby car. The other assailant threw a bottle at the windshield. Hairston's boyfriend drove away and she ran back into the store.
The two assailants fled on foot.
