ROANOKE TAXI DRIVER BEATEN, ROBBED OF HIS YELLOW CAB

Bedford County Sheriff's deputies are looking for two men who beat up a Roanoke cab driver and stole his taxi near Vinton early Monday.

Lt. John McCane of the Bedford County Sheriff's Office said Doug Conner, an employee of Yellow Cab Co., picked up the two men in the Stewartsville area about 3 a.m. Conner was treated at Roanoke Memorial Hospital for injuries to his face and head.

The cab was recovered later that morning. The suspects are thought to be in their late teens or early 20s.
