IN SERVICE - SOUTH

MARINE CPL. ANDREW T. MINTON, son of Ronald and Jean Minton of Roanoke, recently was promoted to his present rank while serving with Marine Wing Support Squadron 372, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, Camp Pendleton, Calif.

Minton is a 1993 graduate of Cave Spring High School.

ARMY PVT. FORREST L. SEAGLE IV, son of Forrest Seagle of Roanoke and Denise Battle of Salem, has graduated from basic military training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

Seagle is a 1994 graduate of Cave Spring High School.

NAVY AIRMAN BRIAN R. WATKINS, son of Ray and Emily Watkins of Roanoke, recently returned from a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean, Adriatic, and Red Seas aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, which launched aircraft that enforced no-fly zones in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iraq.

Watkins is a 1995 graduate of William Fleming High School.

NAVY PETTY OFFICER 1ST CLASS LYNN A. HAYTH, son of James and Ruth Hayth of Buchanan, recently returned from a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean, Adriatic, and Red Seas aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise.

Hayth is a 1982 graduate of James River High School.

NAVY PETTY OFFICER 3RD CLASS CURTIS ALSTON, son of Thomas and Malai Thornton of Roanoke, recently returned from a six-month deployment to the Mediterranean Sea aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Saipan.

Alston is a 1993 graduate of William Fleming High School.
