PICKUPS COLLIDE ON U.S. 460 IN BLACKSBURG

Two men were treated and released for minor injuries after their pickups collided Friday morning on U.S. 460, according to Blacksburg police.

Samuel H. Neighbors, 63, of Blacksburg, was driving from North Main Street onto U.S. 460 when apparently the brakes in his pickup failed, Lt. Bruce Bradbery said.

Neighbors drove his pickup into the path of another truck that was westbound on U.S. 460. John C. Boles, also a 63-year-old Blacksburg resident, was the driver of the second truck, Bradbery said.

The accident, which occurred about 9 a.m., delayed westbound traffic on U.S. 460 for about an hour.

Bradbery said officers completed their investigation and ticketed Neighbors for reckless driving.
