AN 8-YEAR-OLD who accidentally hanged herself with a necktie is in good condition.
An 8-year-old Roanoke girl was in stable condition Friday after she accidentally hanged herself from a cabinet door while playing with her younger brother.
Police said the girl was playing in a spare bedroom about 4:45 p.m. Thursday. An uncle found her when he went to check on the children. The girl had a tie around her neck and apparently had jumped from a nearby piece of furniture. The uncle administered CPR, and the girl was taken to a hospital.
Police did not release the name of the girl or to which hospital she was taken.
The siblings were in the care of her grandparents and an aunt and uncle in Old Southwest when the accident happened, police said. The children often played games like "Superman," they said.
The girl was alert and talking on Friday, police said.
