A man avoided serious injury Sunday afternoon when a small pickup fell on him and neighbors jacked the truck up and pulled him out.
Lt. Kelly Walters of the Christiansburg Rescue Squad said the truck fell on Robert Linkous about 2:30.
Neighbors in the 1300 block of Peppers Ferry Road quickly rushed to Linkous' aid and got the truck off the man's chest, Walters said.
Linkous was conscious and alert when the rescue squad arrived, Walters said. He said the man did not appear to have any serious injuries.
A nursing supervisor at Columbia Montgomery Regional Hospital said Linkous was kept overnight but was released Monday afternoon.
