STRATEGIST DIES

Albert Wohlstetter, an influential innovator in strategic nuclear doctrine who advised Democratic and Republican administrations on military strategy, died Friday in his Los Angeles home. He was 83.

Wohlstetter was awarded the Medal of Freedom in 1985 by President Reagan for his ``great contributions to the security of the United States.''
