CATHOLIC SUCCUMBS TO COUGARS EARLY

Roanoke Catholic didn't have the element of surprise in its favor this time.

As a result, the Celtics were no match for Pulaski County, losing 74-52 to the Cougars on Monday night in Dublin.

The Cougars handled the Celtics easier the second time around by shooting 53 percent from the floor and placing four players in double figures to win a non-district game.

Pulaski County (6-3), which needed overtime to win at Roanoke Catholic in the season opener last month, jumped ahead 24-5 and led 66-32 after three quarters.

Ron Branch scored 14 points for the Cougars. Brendan McCarthy led the Celtics with 17 and Terron Reed had 11.
