Blacksburg Town Council at its Tuesday night meeting approved:

- A special-use permit for the Town Park addition. The request was to convert an existing single family structure to administrative offices, to build an approximately 3,000-square-foot addition to the Senior Center and allow a freestanding sign at 615 Patrick Henry Drive.

- An ordinance that increases, from six hours to 30 days, the time during which the town's noise ordinance's first warning is valid. If another violation is issued at the same place to the same person, within 30 days, then a summons can be issued.

- The town's five-year Capital Improvements Program.
