Virginia swept top honors at Saturday's State Wrestling Championships in Charlottesville.
The Cavaliers edged defending champion George Mason 160-159 in team competition, 150-pounder Jim Harshaw received Outstanding Wrestler honors and UVa coach Lenny Bernstein was named Coach of the Year.
UVa won its fifth team title - its first since 1987 - with a meet-record point total. Harshaw, 177-pounder Martius Harding and 190-pounder Craig Fenstermaker were UVa's three individual champs.
VMI was third with 126 points, followed by Virginia Tech (111), Old Dominion (87.5), James Madison (70), Norfolk State (22.5) and Longwood (17.5).
VMI's Adam Mickiewicz won at 134 pounds and Reese Edgington at 158. Tech got individual titles from Mike Mercado at 118 and John Dattalo at 167.
* Perennial national power Oak Hill Academy of Grayson County will meet Riverdale (Md.) Baptist at 7:30 tonight at Pulaski County High School.
Four Oak Hill players signed Division I letters-of-intent during the fall, including preseason All-American William Avery with Duke. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for youth 10 and under.
