MASKED ROBBERS HIT 7-ELEVEN

Two masked men robbed a Southeast Roanoke convenience store early Tuesday, holding the clerk at gunpoint.

Police said two men wearing ski masks, one holding a gun, walked into the 7-Eleven store at 2118 Bennington St. S.E. about 1:02 a.m. The man holding the gun ordered the clerk to open the cash register and then to lie face down on the floor. One of the robbers took an undisclosed amount of money. The other robber kicked the clerk in the face.

Police said the robbers fled on foot.
