NORTH CROSS GIRLS WIN

North Cross forward Michele Hamilton scored 17 points and grabbed 15 rebounds Thursday to lead the Raiders to a 33-21 come-from-behind Blue Ridge Conference victory over visiting Virginia Episcopal.

North Cross (7-4, 6-2) outscored Virginia Episcopal 16-3 on the scoreboard and 8-1 from the free-throw line in the final quarter to secure the win.

Sarah Boxley Parrott hauled in 10 rebounds for the Raiders.

Boys

Lynchburg Christian 66, Carlisle 57: The Bulldogs went on an 8-0 run with four minutes to play and pulled away from Carlisle for a Virginia Independent Conference victory in Lynchburg.

The Chiefs (5-6, 4-4) were led by Marty Stanley's 22 points. Brandon Page added 16 and Chad Martin had 11.

Wednesday's games

Pocahontas (W.Va.) 64, Bath County 62, OT: The Warriors blew a big lead, then dispatched the Chargers in overtime in a non-district game in Hot Springs. Adam Grist had a game-high 24 points for Bath County (5-4).

Graham 70, Pulaski County 60: The G-Men scored 46 first-half points on blistering 64 percent shooting from the floor and held on to beat the Cougars in a non-district game in Dublin. Pulaski County (8-4), which was led by sophomore Dorian Hendricks' career-high 30 points, couldn't overcome a 17-point halftime deficit.
