X-rays of Courtney Alexander's injured left ankle were negative Thursday, although Virginia offered no timetable on Alexander's return to the basketball floor.
Alexander, the Cavaliers' second-leading scorer, was injured with 10 seconds remaining in UVa's 68-64 victory Wednesday over Georgia Tech. It was the second time Alexander had sprained his left ankle this season.
``This sprain is similar in severity to the sprain Courtney suffered in December,'' trainer Ethan Saliba said Thursday. ``We'll treat it daily. As to his availability for Tuesday's game [with N.C. State], we'll know better the first of the week.''
