RAPPER ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGE AFTER TRAFFIC STOP

A rap musician en route to a South Carolina concert was charged with drug possession during a Friday traffic stop in Stafford County, the state police said.

Tywone Smith, 20, also known as ``Trigger Tha Gambler,'' and Margario Harris, 20, were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of hashish, state police spokeswoman Lucy Caldwell said.

Rufus Robinson, 32, was charged with possession of marijuana. A fourth person in the car was not charged.

Caldwell said police pulled over the 1994 Lexus for speeding at 4:40 a.m. A trooper found two bags thought to contain marijuana and a bag thought to contain hashish in the car, Caldwell said.

Smith is best known for his song ``My Crew Can't Go For That,'' which appears on the soundtrack of the movie ``The Nutty Professor.'' His debut album was released in 1996.

All three men were released on bond and are scheduled to appear in General District Court on April 18.
