Belk signs can go up today. Charlotte, N.C.-based Belk, which in
November bought the Leggett department store chain, has begun adding
its name to 31 former Leggett stores in Virginia, West Virginia,
Maryland and North Carolina. This week it changed signs on its
Western Virginia stores. Shopping bags, in-store displays and price
tags will reflect the name change as well. Belk operates more than
200 stores in the Southeast. color.
