GUNMAN ROBS O'DELL'S EATERY

An employee at a downtown Roanoke restaurant was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon.

Police said a man walked into O'Dell's on the Market at 19 Salem Ave. S.E. about 3 p.m. The man pointed a handgun at David Mounce, demanded money and gave Mounce a plastic bag in which to put the money.

Mounce complied. The robber then forced him into the restroom and told him to remain there. Mounce called police after several minutes.
