* Pulaski Town Council will meet at 4 p.m. today and is likely to discuss filling the position of mayor, left vacant when Andy Graham stepped down last month because of health problems. There will also be a public hearing on the Planning Commission's five-year update to the town's comprehensive plan. Bea Draper, a citizen, has asked to address council with concerns about the temporary closing of a Forest Service road for maintenance.
* The Southwest Virginia Governor's School board will meet at 1 p.m. today at the school in Pulaski. Topics include reports on a student trip to the General Assembly and an open house held at the school, both last month, as well as plans for the Governor's School Science Consortium planned for Feb. 21-22 and updates on providing Internet access to schools in localities served by the Governor's School.
