Viewing time rescheduled

BLACKSBURG - The Black History Month Committee at Virginia Tech has announced a time change for the showing of "Skin Deep," a film dealing with college students' feelings about diversity issues. The film will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Squires Student Center's Haymarket Theatre.

In addition to the film, three Virginia Tech faculty members will lead a discussion. Victoria Fu, Leonardo Smith and Andrew Stremmel will lead viewers in reflecting on the film and talking about diversity in the academic setting.

Tech poet to appear on CNN

BLACKSBURG - Virginia Tech's poet-in-residence Nikki Giovanni will be featured on CNN's "All About Women" today. The cable network will air the program at 8 a.m., 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Giovanni was filmed at Warm Hearth Village where she leads writing classes for the elderly, as well as at her classes at Virginia Tech. Some scenes were shot at a studio in Philadelphia where she did a live recording.
