Response filed in Tech players' lawsuit

In December, one day after being charged by police with rape and attempted sodomy, two Virginia Tech football players filed a $32 million civil lawsuit against their accuser. Monday, attorneys for the woman responded.

James Crawford and Brian Edmonds say in their joint lawsuit against the woman, who is also a Tech student, that she falsely reported the charges and therefore caused them pain and suffering and financial losses.

Her attorneys are asking the men to admit certain statements about the incident are true and answer questions that would give insight into the criminal trial that has yet to go to court. For details, see today's Virginia section.
