Applications for New River Valley Habitat for Humanity home ownership are now available for citizens in Radford who are currently living in poverty and/or substandard housing. The deadline for the return of applications is 5 p.m. Feb. 18.
A group of seven churches in Radford signed a formal agreement with New River Valley Habitat for Humanity on Jan. 28 to provide support towards the construction of a Habitat for Humanity home on 17th Street in Radford. Construction is tentatively set to begin in late March.
Applications are available in Christiansburg at the Montgomery County Health Department, the Montgomery County Department of Social Services, or by calling the Habitat for Humanity office at 381-4215. The support churches in Radford which will also supply applications are: Central United Methodist, First Baptist, First Christian, Grace Episcopal, Grove United Methodist, St. Jude's, and the Presbyterian Church of Radford.
