The CBS eye isn't blinking.
Westinghouse Electric Corp. said Wednesday it would keep the CBS name and famous eye logo for the new company it created in November by spinning off its media properties.
This came after spending $30,000 on a public attitude study about the name and sifting through 50 potential designs for the logo, said spokeswoman Helene Blieberg of the just-christened CBS Corp. - consisting of the CBS television and radio networks, the cable TV company Group W Satellite Communications, and the Infinity Broadcasting group of radio stations.
The Westinghouse name is attached to the separate company running refrigerated truck and nuclear power operations.
The logo will be kept with one variation - the text ``CBS'' will be added - making necessary hundreds of new letterheads and business cards.
