Laura Fenton, a broadcaster and former college professor who is one of the top racquetball players in the world, will give a clinic at 6 p.m. today at the Roanoke Athletic Club.
Fenton, from Lincoln, Neb., is in town for the Berglund Automotive/Roanoke Athletic Club Pro Am, one of the stops this year on the Women's International Racquetball Tour.
Fenton, who has been on the tour for 3 1/2 years, will demonstrate some of the fundamentals of racquetball and offer tips. If time allows, she also may play racquetball with some of the spectators.
Fenton recently took world champion Michelle Gould to five games before losing. Gould will join Fenton in the field for the pro tournament, which begins Friday afternoon and continues through Sunday.
