CELEBRATIONS - WEDDINGS

Burichin-Brumfield

Jennifer Lee Burichin and Gregory Scott Brumfield were united in marriage on February 8, 1997 at Rainbow Forest Baptist Church, Troutville, VA. The Rev. Kenneth Butterworth officiated the double ring ceremony. The reception was held at the Patrick Henry Hotel.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Burichin of Daleville, VA. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brumfield of Blue Ridge, VA.

The maid of honor was Sheri Lynn Burichin, sister of the bride. Bridesmaid was Kimberly Thacker, sister of the groom. The flowergirl was Stephanie Shephard, friend of the couple, and Zachary Thacker, nephew of the groom, was ringbearer.

The best man was Robert Brumfield, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Patrick Ayers, cousin of the groom, Toby St. Clair and Shane Briggs, friends of the groom.

The bride wore a gown of white silk with a chapel length train and a top of reembroidered lace accented with pearls and sequins. She carried a colonial-style bouquet of burgundy and deep pink roses, accented with spray roses, mini carnations, statice and heather. Wedding photos by Barry Brooks.

The bride graduated from Kinnelon High School, Kinnelon, New Jersey, attended Radford University and is employed at Carbone of America, Salem, VA.

The groom graduated from Lord Botetourt High School, attended Ferrum University and is employed as manager at Macado's, downtown Roanoke.

After a honeymoon to Las Vegas, the couple will reside in Troutville, VA.

Durham-Farmer

Connie Sue Farmer and Michael William Durham were united in marriage on February 8, 1997 in St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Rev. Steven R. Rule officiated.

Matron of honor was Vickie Woodford, the bride's Aunt. Bridesmaids were Gina Brammer of Richmond, Lori Kingsbury of Tenn. and Christina Wheeler of Vinton, cousins of the bride.

The best man was Mr. Charles Durham, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Bobby Durham, brother of the groom, and Phillip Grosso, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Jeffrey Woodford and Matthew Woodford, cousins of the bride. Ringbearer was Charlie Durham, nephew of the groom.

Bridal consultant was Nikki Morgan. Flowers and cake were done by Forever Yours.

The bride is the daughter of Roy and Shirley Farmer of Vinton. She graduated from William Byrd High School and is employed at General Electric. The groom is the son of Charles and Mary Durham of Roanoke. He graduated from Northside High School and is employed at General Electric.

The reception was held at the Clairon Hotel. The newlyweds will live in Bedford County following a wedding trip.

Ellis-Corbin

Stacey Lynn Corbin and Brian Lee Ellis were married September 28, 1996 during a morning ceremony at Fairfax Baptist Church in Fairfax, Va. The double ring ceremony was performed jointly by Reverend Carroll Bruce and Reverend R. Stuart Carlton.

Miss Corbin is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Corbin of Bel Air, Md. Mr. Ellis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Ellis of Roanoke, Va.

The bride graduated from Bel Air High School and George Mason University with a bachelor's degree in Communication. She is employed at Stanton Communications, a Washington, D.C. public relations firm. The groom graduated from Cave Spring High School and George Mason University with a bachelor's degree in Finance. He is employed at KPMG Peat-Marwick, a financial consulting firm in Washington, D.C.

The bride's silk shantung dress was embroidered with Alencon lace and pearls. Rhonda Kitchen, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Maureen Hunter, friend of the bride, and the bride's cousins, Laurel Fisher and Nichole Sutherland. Flower girls were the bride's goddaughter, Ashley Fisher, and her sister, Lindsey Fisher.

Lionel Ellis, father of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Abe Hunter, Parag Amin and Evan Kurtz, friends of the groom. Taylor DeHart, cousin of the groom, was ringbearer.

After a Champagne brunch at the Old Town Hall, the couple left for San Francisco and Maui. They reside in Alexandria.

O'Keeffe-Coleman

Amy Beth Coleman and Michael Edward O'Keeffe were married December 14, 1996, in St. Leo's The Great Catholic Church with Father Mark Lawlor officiating. The reception was held at the Sawtooth Building.

The maid of honor was Alice Trumbull Van-Buren, Washington, D. C., friend of bride. Matron of honor was Amanda Wilson Drawbaugh, Kernersville, N. C., friend of bride. Bridesmaids were Margaret Loftin Williams, Winston-Salem, N. groom; Colleen Marie O'Keeffe, Troy, Ohio, sister of groom; Caitlin Anne Marie Torney, Greensboro, N. C., friend of bride. Flower girl was Evin Elizabeth Torney, Greensboro, N. C., friend of bride.

Kevin Louis Jones, Chicago, Ill., friend of groom, served as best man. Ushers included Robert Casey Coleman, Roanoke, Va., brother of bride; Michael McDonald Dunn, Greensboro, N. C., friend of groom; Christopher Michael Coffield, Cleveland, Ohio, friend of groom; Dennis McManus Feerick, Syracuse, N. Y., friend of groom. Ring bearer was Garret John Torney, Greensboro, N. C., friend of bride. Candlelighters were Mrs. Rhonda Coleman, mother of bride, and Mrs. Connie O'Keeffe, mother of groom. Guestbook attendants were Andrew George Gooliak, cousin of bride, and Karen Leigh Fannin, aunt of bride.

The bride wore a gown of silk shantung with silk satin trim. She carried a bouquet of white lilies and roses with winter greenery. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Rhonda Jo Coleman, Roanoke, Va., and Mr. Kenneth Marshall Coleman, Cape Coral, Fla. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School, Roanoke, Va., and from Guilford College, Greensboro, N. C. She is employed by Summit School, Winston-Salem, N. C.

The groom is the son of Mr. L. Michael and Connie Marie O'Keeffe, Troy, Ohio. He graduated from Troy High School, Troy, Ohio, and Notre Dame University, South Bend, Ind. He is a fourth year medical student at The Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, N. C. The newlyweds will live in Winston-Salem, N. C., after a wedding trip to the British Virgin Islands.

Rippee-Crawford

Stacey D. Crawford and Richard A. Rippee were married February 1, 1997 in Roanoke College Chapel. Pastor Bob Ward officiated. The ringbearer was Jeremy Houseman, nephew of the bride. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Crawford of Roanoke. She is employed by First Union. The groom is a son of Danny Rippee of Roanoke and Sharon Rippee of Salem. He is employed by Central Valley. The newlyweds will live in Salem.

Thomas-McPhaul

Miss Lee Ann McPhaul and Doctor George Thomas were united in marriage December 27, 1996 in the parlor at Covenant Presbyterian Church, Roanoke, Va., with Rev. Carl Dumford of Charlotte, N.C. officiating. The maid of honor was Miss Kathryn McPhaul, sister of the bride. Mr. Thomas Kallarackal, cousin of the groom, served as best man. Following the ceremony, a wedding dinner was given by the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill McPhaul, at Hunting Hills Country Club.

The bride is a Physician's Assistant employed by the Family Health Center, Edmore, Michigan. The groom is an internal medicine specialist in the practice of Family and Adult Medicine, Midland, Michigan.

Thompson-Richardson

There is a correction to be made in the wedding of Christy Michelle Richardson, published on January 26, 1997. The father of the bride is Hollie Eugene Richardson, Jr., not William Ross.
