Marshall Wooldridge hit four 3-point goals, including two straight to open the second half, as Salem remained tied for the Blue Ridge District lead with a 67-52 victory over Rockbridge County in Lexington.
The Spartans (13-7, 11-2), who kept pace with William Byrd, were down by four at the half after trailing by as many as eight in the second quarter.
Wooldridge, who had 18 points, nailed a pair of 3-pointers as Salem outscored the Wildcats 18-8 in the third period to take a 43-37 lead into the final eight minutes. The Spartans then put away Rockbridge County with a 24-15 fourth-period run.
Kwam Lewis scored 21 points to lead Salem, while Andy Beach added 13.
Ricky Wright scored 13 points to pace the Wildcats (5-13, 4-8).

Patrick Henry 112, Franklin County 65: Every Patriot scored at least four points as PH clinched a share of the Roanoke Valley District title by demolishing the visting Eagles.
William Fleming can tie for the title with a win over Cave Spring on Friday. A victory by the Colonels would force a one-game playoff next Tuesday.
Ronnie Kasey scored 10 points and Boo Battle nine in the first quarter as the Patriots jumped to a 31-14 advantage. Battle finished with 25 points, Kasey 21, Malik Shareef 18 and Colby Leftwich 16 points for PH.
Patrick Drakeford scored 12 points to lead the Eagles (4-16, 0-7).
Roanoke Catholic 61, Timberlake Christian 42: The Celtics came out in the second half and used pressure defense and balanced scoring to blow open the Virginia Independent Conference game at Roanoke Catholic.
The Celtics (7-14, 6-7), who trailed 27-24 at the break, outscored Timberlake Christian 24-5 in the third quarter to take a 48-32 lead into the final period.
Brendan McCarthy scored 22 points for the Celtics, while Terron Reed, Timesland's leading rebounder, had 19 boards to go along with 16 points.
Clint Dodson scord 18 points and Paul Fitzgerald 10 for Timberlake Christian (3-16, 1-10).
Parry McCluer 75, Craig County 59: Chip Coleman scored 16 points in the second and third quarters as the Fighting Blues - coupled with Bath County's loss - clinched the Pioneer District title at New Castle.
Coleman scored 12 points and made two 3-pointers in the second quarter, when Parry McCluer (18-1, 8-1) opened up a 36-27 lead. Coleman finished with 24 points and four 3-pointers.
Dwayne Crawford led Craig County (1-13, 0-8) with 18 points and Mike Fisher scored 17.
Lord Botetourt 66, Northside 45: The Vikings' triangle-and-two defense backfired as Jesse Powell burned Northside with 21 points in the Cavaliers' Blue Ridge District victory in Daleville.
Northside (5-14, 5-7) opened in a special defense designed to shut down Botetourt's top scoring threats, Michael Yates and Sean Osbourne. The defense worked on those two, as the Vikings held Osbourne to five points and Yates 11.
However Powell hit five of nine 3-pointers to spur Botetourt (11-7, 6-7).
Covington 70, James River 47: Tracy Walker scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds as the Cougars stifled the Knights in a Pioneer District contest in Covington.
Covington (8-10, 5-4) led 32-26 at halftime and outscored James River 23-12 in the third period to seal the victory. Erwin Twitty scored 16 points and Boo Stewart had 14 points and seven steals as the Cougars forced 26 turnovers.
Travis Blankenship scored 16 points for James River (7-11, 3-5).
Girls
Cave Spring 63, George Washington-Danville 61, OT: Catie Redick hit two free throws with six seconds left in overtime as the host Knights completed a two-game sweep of the Eagles.
GW-Danville (17-2), the Western District regular-season champion, has suffered both of its losses to Cave Spring. The Knights won 78-42 on Dec. 17 in Danville.
This contest was much closer. Cave Spring led 59-56 near the end of regulation but Shanna Price hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime.
GW-Danville took a 61-59 lead in overtime, but Cave Spring's Stacie Morioka drove to the basket for a layup to tie it at 61 with 1:30 to go. Redick drew a foul with six seconds left and knocked down the game-winning free throws.
Redick finished with 14 points and seven rebounds for Cave Spring (16-3). Twin sister Alyssa Redick added 12 points and Lindsay Cannon 10.
Roanoke Valley Christian 76, North Cross 38: Gina Guthrie scored 26 points as the Eagles soared past the Raiders in a Blue Ridge Conference contest at North Cross.
Rebecca Bryant added 18 points for the Eagles (20-4, 11-1).
Michele Hamilton led the Raiders (11-6, 9-4) with 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Roanoke Catholic 43, Timberlake Christian 23: Christy Hinman scored a game-high 15 points and Whitney Cummings added 12 in the Celtics' Blue Ridge Conference win over visiting Timberlake.
The Celtics (7-15, 5-10) held Timberlake (3-13, 3-13) to two points in the opening period and to single digits in all four quarters. Catholic also owned a 30-18 rebounding edge.
Erin Knight and Karen Dalton each scored six points for Timberlake.
