The Roanoke Symphony Orchestra and Roanoke Valley Choral Society have announced plans for the recording of their April 28 performance of Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 at the Roanoke Civic Center.
Cassettes and CDs will be available for sale by the summer.
Advance orders may be placed by phone (343-6221) or in person during intermission of upcoming performances.
``This recording will showcase the wonderful musicians of our symphony and choral society, Southwest Virginia's great cultural treasure, in Beethoven's monumental 'Choral' symphony,'' said conductor David Wiley. "We have chosen to do a live recording so that our audience can share in the excitement of this wonderful occasion.''
Ham radio classes to begin April 2
The Roanoke Valley Amateur Radio Club is offering classes for Ham radio licenses beginning April 2 at the American Red Cross in Roanoke.

Kaleidoscope class at science museum
Children in grades three through five can learn about light by building a kaleidoscope Feb. 22, 1-4 p.m., at the Science Museum of Western Virginia at Center in the Square on the Roanoke City Market.
