Abbott-Keith

Karen C. Abbott and Roger L. Keith are pleased to announce their engagement. Ms. Abbott is the daughter of Joe and Maxine Cook of Roanoke and is employed by First Union National Bank. Mr. Keith is the son of Carl and Doris Keith of Gate City, VA and is employed by Atlantic Mutual Companies. An April wedding is planned.

Andrews-Saunders

Helen Andrews and Troy Saunders are engaged and planning to be married on June 28, 1997, at Macedonia Baptist Church in Roanoke. She is a daughter of Vedia M. Cooper and Arthur L. Cooper of Roanoke. She was graduated from Patrick Henry High School and attended Virginia State University. She is employed by Precision Fabrics Group, Inc. He is the son of Mrs. Frances C. Saunders of Roanoke, and the late Wallace A. Saunders. He was graduated from William Fleming High School and attended East Tennessee State University. He is also employed by Precision Fabrics Group, Inc.

Armentrout-Reemsnyder

Mr. and Mrs. F. Robert Armentrout of Herndon, Va. are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Christine Mason, to David Echols Reemsnyder III. Mr. Reemsnyder is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David E. Reemsnyder II, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Hain, all of Blacksburg. He is also the grandson of Mrs. David E. Reemsnyder of Buckhannon, W.Va.

Miss Armentrout graduated from Oakton High School and received her bachelor's degree in Music Performance and Education from Virginia Tech. She is employed with Fairfax County Public Schools as the Orchestra Director at Herndon High School.

Mr. Reemsnyder graduated from Blacksburg High School and will receive his bachelor's degree in Marketing from the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech in May, 1997.

The wedding is planned for July.

Barker-Vaughn

Jerry and Freda Barker of Christiansburg are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Angie Dawn, to Christopher Mark Vaughn, son of Mark and Susan Vaughn of Pulaski. A July wedding is planned.

Bradshaw-Hamilton

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Bradshaw Jr. of Roanoke announce the engagement of their daughte r, Miss Tracy Reynolds Bradshaw, to Mr. Harry Wayne Hamilton III, son of Mr. Harry Wayne Hamilton Jr. of Roanoke and the late Mrs. Hamilton. A June wedding is planned.

Miss Bradshaw was graduated from James Madison University and is a partner with Lib and Tracy Catering. Mr. Hamilton was graduated from the University of Tennessee. He is a Vice President with Davenport & Company of Virginia, Inc

Bramlett-Dudley

Paul and Nancy Bramlett of Chamblissburg are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Cheri, to Michael Wayne Dudley, son of Tom and Phyllis Dudley of Chamblissburg. Amy is a 1995 graduate of Staunton River and is currently employed at Berkshire Health Care Center. Michael is a 1995 graduate of Staunton River and is currently employed at Shorewood Packaging. A February 1998 wedding is planned.

Church-Hensley

Jennifer Scott Church and Randall Scott Hensley are engaged and planning to be married on August 9, 1997, in Dublin. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles D. Church of Blacksburg. She graduated from Blacksburg High School in 1987 and New River Community College in 1992. She is employed by New River Newspapers. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell D. Hensley of Blacksburg. He graduated from Blacksburg High School in 1990 and attended New River Community College. He is employed by Kroger.

Coffey-White

Leslie Coffey and Chad White are engaged and planning to be married on May 10, 1997, in Roanoke. Leslie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Coffey, Roanoke. She graduated from Salem High School 1993 and is a senior at Roanoke College majoring in Biology. Chad is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe White, Clearfield, Pa., formerly of Vinton. He graduated from William Byrd High School 1993 and is a senior at Roanoke College majoring in Math.

Davis-May

Cynthia Davis and Graham May are engaged and planning to be married on May 31, 1997 in Blacksburg. She is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C. Y. Davis of Blacksburg. She was graduated from Va. Tech with a B.A.; Wake Forest with a M.A. in Psychology; and is attending Georgia State University, where she is a doctoral candidate for 1998. He is a son of Mrs. Harriet May of Winston-Salem, N.C. and the late Graham May. He was graduated from Wake Forest University, where he is employed as a computer network technician

DeVaughn-Hall

Melissa L. DeVaughn and G. Andrew Hall, Jr. are engaged and plan to be married on May 3, 1997 in Copper Hill, Virginia. Melissa is the daughter of George and Marne DeVaughn of Troutville, Virginia. She is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and of Virginia Tech. Melissa lives in Anchorage, Alaska, where she does freelance writing and is employed by the Anchorage Daily News and the Associated Press.

Andy is the son of George and Eileen Hall of Anchorage, Alaska. He is a graduate of Robert Service High School and the University of Alaska. He is employed on the editorial staff of Alaska Magazine.

Melissa and Andy will return to Anchorage following their wedding in Virginia.

Hoskins-Terry

Gwendolyn Gayle Hoskins and Jodie Lee Terry are engaged and planning to be married on May 17, 1997, in Roanoke. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Hoskins of Salem. She graduated from Salem High School and James Madison University. He also graduated from Salem High School and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Wayne Craig of Salem, and the late Monte W. Terry.

Mr. and Mrs. Daniel F. Nielsen of Pensacola, Fla. announce the engagement of their daughter, Prisscialla Ann, to Steven M. Songer, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Harvey Songer of Catawba, Va. Ms. Nielsen graduated in 1996 from Pensacola Junior College with an Associate's Degree in Legal Assisting. Mr. Songer is a 1986 graduate of Lord Botetourt High School, Daleville, Va., and a 1988 graduate of ECPI, Roanoke, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Sale announce with pleasure the engagement of their daughter, Julie Ann, to Norman Jose Lizarralde, son of Dr. German Lizarralde and Mrs. Betty C. Lizarralde.

Julie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Mary Washington College in 1993. Norm is originally from Charleston, S.C., and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing in 1990 and his Master of Business Administration degree in Finance in 1993 from Virginia Tech. Both Julie and Norm are currently employed by State Farm Insurance Company in Charlottesville, Va.

The couple will be married September 1, 1997 on the island of St. Lucia in the British West Indies.

Thomas-McDowell

Mr. and Mrs. Richard M. Thomas of Bedford , Virginia, joyfully announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Elizabeth, to Mr. Landon Oakes McDowell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. McDowell III of Brookneal, Virginia.

Miss Thomas is a graduate of Virginia Episcopal School. She is currently attending the School of Nursing at the University of Virginia.

Mr. McDowell is a graduate of Virginia Episcopal School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Ingram anniversary

Elvin and Mildred Ingram celebrated their 50th anniversary February 14, 1997. They were wed on this day in 1947. Mildred is a homemaker and Elvin retired from Norfolk Southern in 1985. They have five children, Bobby, Johnny, Kenneth, Sharon, and Van; and ten grandchildren. Happy anniversary with love from all your family.
