Kimberly Carole Deel and Samuel David Blankenship were united in marriage February 15th, 1997 at Glade Creek Baptist Church. The ceremony took place at 7:00 p.m. and was officiated by Rev. Phillip Ayers. A reception followed in the Fellowship Hall.
Kim Petcher, friend of the bride, attended as maid of honor. Heidi Deel, cousin of the bride, and Sheri Stephens, friend of the bride, served as bridesmaids. Brooke Blankenship, daughter of the groom, was the flowergirl.
Hugh Blankenship, father of the groom, stood as best man. Hughie Blankenship, brother of the groom, and Jason Deel, brother of the bride, served as ushers. Josh Benge, cousin of the bride, was ringbearer.
Chasity Durr, cousin of the bride, attended the guest book.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Deel of Blue Ridge. She is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and is employed at Hanover Direct. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Blankenship of Daleville. He is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and is employed at Pepsi and UPS. After a wedding trip to Florida the couple will reside in Roanoke.
Collins-Davis
Susan Montague Davis and Kenneth Agee Collins, Jr. were united in marriage Saturday, December 28, 1996, at St. John's Church, Richmond, Virginia. The Rev. William Reeves officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Katharine Phlegar Davis of Blacksburg, Virginia. She is the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. David Shanks Phlegar, Jr., and the late Mr. George Maslin Davis, and the late Mrs. Sue G. Davis Houser. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Agee Collins of Richmond. He is the grandson of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Senior Berry, and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Cabell Collins.
Mrs. Victoria Leigh McClure of Richmond was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Anne Harper West of Richmond, and Miss Barbara Lyn Watts of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Junior bridesmaids were Miss Katharine Frances Phlegar of Slidell, Louisiana, and Miss Megan Brown of Richmond, nieces.
Mr. Kurt Andrew Evans of Richmond was best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Martin Feuerbach, Mr. George Vincent Gilligan , and Mr. Brandon Lee Campbell, all of Richmond. Junior groomsman was Mr. Spencer Koch Revenson of Richmond.
The bride was escorted by her uncle, Mr. David Shanks Phlegar, III, of Slidell, Louisiana. Readers were Mrs. Stephanie Lewis of Richmond, and Mr. Thomas Lyles of Alexandria, Virginia.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at The Twenty-Three Hundred Club. Miss Ellen Buck of Richmond was guestbook attendant.
The bride is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College and is employed at Circuit City Corporate Headquarters. The groom is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and is a script writer.
Cummis-Burrows
Jordan Elliott and Lauren Elizabeth proudly announce the marriage of their mother Diane Elizabeth Burrows to Brian Andrew Cummis. They were married January 31 in Roanoke.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Burrows III of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Patrick Henry High in Roanoke, and is employed by Olsten Staffing Services in Charlotte, NC.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Cummis of Randolph, NJ. He is a graduate of Randolph High School in Randolph, NJ, and is employed by First Union National Bank in Charlotte, NC.
The new family will live in Charlotte, NC.

Christine Dawn Price and Scott Douglas Curry were united in marriage Saturday, September 7, 1996, at Riverdale Baptist Church, Roanoke, Virginia. Dr. Michael Curry, brother of the groom, officiated. The reception was held at the Roanoke Airport Marriott.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John D. Price of Troutville. Mrs. Cindy Rider, a friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. The bridesmaid was Mrs. Cheryl Wheeling, a friend of the bride. Chelsea Hogan served as the flowergirl.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Ann Morris of Roanoke, and the late Earl W. Curry. Mr. Hoa Su, friend of the groom, served as best man. Mr. Dennis Nackley of Nashville, Tennessee, a friend of the groom, served as the groomsman. The ringbearer was Brandon Doran.
Music was provided by Joyce White. The guest book was attended by Mrs. Patricia Perdue, sister of the bride. Special thanks to Mrs. Debbie Wimmer, sister of the groom for her creative expertise, and Kevin Hurley Photography.
The couple took a wedding trip to Garden City Beach, South Carolina.

Matron of honor was Vickie Woodford, the bride's Aunt. Bridesmaids were Gina Brammer of Richmond, Lori Kingsbury of Tenn. and Christina Wheeler of Vinton, cousins of the bride.
Flower girl was Kortney Emert. Guest Book attendant was Mitzi Wheeler, cousin of bride.
The best man was Mr. Charles Durham, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Bobby Durham, brother of the groom, and Phillip Grosso, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Jeffrey Woodford and Matthew Woodford, cousins of the bride. Ringbearer was Charlie Durham, nephew of the groom.
Bridal consultant was Nikki Morgan. Flowers and cake were done by Forever Yours.
The bride is the daughter of Roy and Shirley Farmer of Vinton. She graduated from William Byrd High School and is employed at General Electric. The groom is the son of Charles and Mary Durham of Roanoke. He graduated from Northside High School and is employed at General Electric.
The reception was held at the Clairon Hotel. T he newlyweds will live in Bedford County following a wedding trip.
French-Sublett
The marriage of Kimberly Lanee Sublett to Jeffrey Blake French took place at 2 p.m., February 15, in Mentow Baptist Church in Huddleston, Virginia, with the Reverend Daren Davis, pastor of the church, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sublett of Bedford. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adlai French of Vinton.
Attendants were Cher Nichols of Bedford, sister of the bride, matron of honor; Melissa Clement of Hardy, friend of the bride, maid of honor; and Angela Perry, sister of the bride, bridesmaid.
Adlai French was best man for his son; and groomsmen were Tommy French of Vinton, brother of the groom, and Glenn Harris, friend of the groom of Troutville, Virginia.
Chelsey Nichols, niece of the bride was flower girl; and Dustin Nichols, nephew of the bride was ringbearer.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
The bride is a graduate of Central Vir ginia Community College with a High Honor Associate Degree in Office Systems Technology. She is currently employed with CVCC in the Counseling Department.
The groom graduated from Staunton River High School and attended Virginia Western Community College. He is currently employed with Dodson Brothers Exterminating Company, Inc.
After a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple will reside in Bedford, Va.
Read-Korb
Historic Wakefield Chapel in Annandale, Virginia, was the setting for the marriage of Catherine Sublett Korb to Ron Stuart Read on December 14, 1996, the Rev. Brent H. Thalacker officiating.
The bride was given in marriage by her son, J. Evan Korb. Matron of honor was Wendy Sublett Asbury, sister of the bride, and honor attendants were Emily Rose Korb and Allison Elizabeth Korb, daughters of the bride.
Mark Siciliano served as best man. Music was provided by Pipe-Major Walter T. Wilkie, formerly of the Scots Guards at Buckingham Palace, on the great highland bagpipe. Thomas Sublett, brother of the bride, read ``Love'', by Mary Carolyn Davies. A dinner reception followed the service at The Hermitage Inn in Clifton, Va.
The bride is the daughter of Catherine C. Sublett of Vinton, Va., and James I. Sublett of Chesapeake, Va. She is a graduate of William Byrd High School and George Mason Universi ty. She is currently employed by FaxWorld Corporation.
The groom is the son of Eileen Read and the late John Stuart Read of Barmera, South Australia. An Australian currently residing in the U.S., he is a former officer of the Royal Australian Navy. His daughter, Toni Morabito, resides with her husband Frank in Melbourne, Australia. Mr. Read is the owner and president of FaxWorld Corporation in Falls Church, Va.
The couple resides with their three children in Centreville, Va.
Thompson-Richardson
Christy Michelle Richardson and Adam Douglas Thompson were united in marriage on December 7, 1996 at Colonial Avenue Baptist Church with the Reverend Laney Mofield officiating.
The special music Christy and Adam chose was played by Tim Cline on the bagpipes.
The bride is the daughter of William Ross and Deborah C. Jackson of Salem. Christy graduated from Cave Spring High School and attended the College of Health Sciences; she is employed by Interstate Battery of Roanoke Valley.
The groom is the son of Douglas C. and Jane N. Thompson of Roanoke County. Adam graduated from Cave Spring High School and attended the College of Health Sciences and Virginia Western Community College. He is employed by the Roanoke County Police Department.
Amy Rader, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Wynona Young, cousin of the bride; Leigh Ann Thompson, sister of th e groom. The flower girl was Cassi Young.
The best man was Douglas Thompson, father of the groom. Groomsmen were John Hoover and James Cady, Jr., friends of Adam and Christy. The ringbearer was Tyler Hoover.
After a reception at the Roanoke Marriott, the couple left for their honeymoon cruise in the Caribbean, and now make their home in Salem.
Viar-Leonard
Glenda Lynne Leonard and Mitchell Brian Viar were married in Shenandoah Baptist Church on February 2, 1997, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Rick Brown officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Aubrey and Betty Leonard of Vinton. She is a graduate of Roanoke Valley Christian Schools and the College of Health Sciences. She is employed by Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital.
The groom is the son of Robert and Jan Viar of Cloverdale. He is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and Virginia Western Community College. He is employed by the City of Roanoke.
The reception immediately following the ceremony was held at the Vinton War Memorial.
The couple will reside in Vinton.
