COLLEGE NOTES NORTH

CARLA PERKINS and LARRY STEVENS II, both of Roanoke, recently were named to the fall semester dean's list at East Tennessee State University.

JEFFREY DAVID McCRAY, son of David and Diana McCray of Roanoke, has been named to the dean's list for the fall semester at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro.

McCray, a 1995 graduate of Patrick Henry High School, is majoring in broadcasting/cinema and theater.

DANA BAUMAN of Roanoke County has been inducted into the Virginia Tech Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, a national honor society. Selection to the society is based on good character and academic achievement.

Bauman is a senior majoring in vocational technical education.

KEITH CARTER CAMPBELL, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rex C. Campbell of Salem, recently received his Ph.D in systems engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a 1985 graduate of Salem High School, and received a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia.

Campbell has accepted a position with U.S. Airways in Arlington.

SUSAN GROSS of Roanoke recently was named to the Bluefield College dean's list.

ELIZABETH MARIE SICORA of Roanoke was recently named to the dean's list at Meredith College in Raleigh, N.C.

VALERIE M. GLYNN of Vinton recently was named to the dean's list at Saint Francis College, Loretto, Pa.

RADFORD UNIVERSITY recently named a number of Roanoke-area students to its dean's list.

Others named to the list are: Denise McNitt and Brian Turner of Blue Ridge; Ernest Huffman of Daleville; Jamie Foultz and James Womack of Troutville; and Katrina Terry of Buchanan.

ROANOKE COLLEGE recently announced the names of Roanoke-area students who have been inducted into the Alpha Chi academic honor society: Heather Davis, Linda Earles, Rosanna Hopper, Kelley Orr, Tiffany Shartzer and Susan Wallace, all of Roanoke; and Leigh Muir of Salem.

EMORY and HENRY COLLEGE recently named several Roanoke-area students to its dean's list: Jane Horner, Ginger Hudson, Chris Lester and Sarah Miller, all of Roanoke; Rylie Bane of Salem; Andy Dewease of Vinton; Stephanie Cash of Troutville; and Robyn Mundy of Daleville.

AMY LEIGHANNE NICELY of Roanoke recently received a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.

CHARLES BRISCOE of Roanoke recently was named to the dean's list at Anderson University in Anderson, Ind.

TIMOTHY NININGER, son of Nancy Nininger of Roanoke, recently was named to the dean's list at Clemson University, S.C.

BRANDAN ELIZABETH SURKAMER of Roanoke was named to the dean's list at the University of Kentucky. Surkamer is a senior majoring in kinesiology.
