IN SCHOOL WEST

VIRGINIA S. WEAVER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Weaver of Roanoke, was named to the honor roll for the fall term at Kent School, a private boarding school in Kent, Conn.

RA'SEAN BEATTY, JOHN E. SMITH AND DOMINIQUE PRESTON, of the Roanoke Academy for Mathematics and Science, won savings bonds for their entries in a competition to design the Cox Communications Christmas card.

Beatty, a fourth-grader, was awarded a $75 savings bond for her first-place design. Smith, a fifth-grader, and Preston, a first-grader, each received $50 savings bonds for their second- and third-place designs.
