Pulaski planning 7th community sale

PULASKI - Donations of goods for Pulaski's seventh annual Community Yard and Bake Sale, scheduled for May 1-3, are being sought.

Anna Powers, who has spearheaded the program since its beginning, said items such as furniture, books, household goods and clean clothing can be delivered from 8 a.m. to noon Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday to the former People's Drug Store building next to Wade's Supermarket in Maple Shade Mall.

Baked goods can be delivered on the days of the sale. Volunteers will be needed on those days.

Proceeds this year will be divided among the Pulaski Free Clinic, Youth Emergency Shelter, New River Valley Habitat for Humanity, SHARE baskets and the Emergency Needs Task Force. More information is available by calling Powers at 980-2418.

Dublin concert set for E&H Choir

DUBLIN - The Emory & Henry Concert Choir will perform at 7 p.m. March 8 at Dublin United Methodist Church during its annual tour.

Alumni and parents are invited for dessert and coffee in the church's Richardson Room following the performance. Those planning to to come to the post-performance gathering should call Sue Thompson at 674-5128 or 674-6671.

Radford park reservations sought

RADFORD - Radford residents may reserve shelters No.1 and No.2 at Bisset Park beginning Monday, March 3, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Nonresidents must wait until Monday, April 1. Register at the Radford Parks and Recreation Department, 29 First St.

Shelter No. 3 at Bisset Park and shelters at Riverview Park may be used on a first-come, first-served basis. Call 731-3633 for more information.

Water, waste-water courses planned

WYTHEVILLE - Short courses in basic and advanced water and waste-water treatment are being offered by Wytheville Community College next month for those wanting to take the state license examinations.

Basic and advanced licensure courses will be 1-8:30 p.m., March 24-26 and April 14-16; review courses for basic and advanced waste water will be 1-5:30 p.m. March 27; and basic and advanced water 1-5:30 p.m. April17.
