SMITH, Estes, 72, of Roanoke passed away Friday, February 21, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Arlena Smith; two daughters, Janice S. Waldron, Barbara A. Smith, all of Roanoke; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Harry Smith of Hollins, Clarence and Mary Smith of Roanoke; two sisters, Cora Lewi s and Lee Anna Smith, both of Hollins; one brother-in-law, James William Hunt, Roanoke; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Smith, Jeanette Waldron, Roy Waldron, IV; four great-grandchildren, Kiesha Waldron, Tiffany Waldron, Tia Waldron and Janey Waldron; a special friend, Gary Welch; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 1997, at the First Baptist Church of Hollins, with the Rev. Charles R. Calloway, Sr. officiating. The family requests to omit flowers. STIGALL, Lois Fugate, 63, of Salem, passed away Thursday, February 20, 1997. Funeral 2 p.m. Monday, John M. Oakey and Son Chapel, Salem.

TAYLOR, Mack William, Sr., 72, of P. O. Box 3025, 16 Coopers Court, Martinsville, passed away Saturday, February 22, 1997 at Memorial Hospital in Henry County. He was the husband of the late Alice Price ``Jo"" Taylor. Mr. Taylor was born January 6, 1925 in Crumpler, W. Va. to the late Harbour Leath Taylor, Sr. and Bessie Shough Taylor. He was owner and operator of Martinsville Food Distributors from 1951 to 1995, past State President of the Virginia Elks Association, member of the Elks Association #1752 of Martinsville, and member of the First United Methodist Church of Martinsville. He was also preceded in death by his son, Mack William Taylor, Jr., two brothers, Harbour Leath ``H. L."" Taylor, Jr. and Frank Lee Taylor, Sr. He was a 2nd Class Petty Officer with the United State Navy, serving in WWII. Mr. Taylor is survived by a daughter, Melissa Ann Taylor; sisters, Christine Taylor, Georgia Schilling, all of Martinsville, Dolores Whetstone, Richmond, Polly Goff, Severna Park, Md.; brother, Carter W. Taylor, Roanoke; and granddaughter, Susan Katherine Taylor, Knoxville, Tenn. Cryptside funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday in Roselawn Abbey, with the Rev. Ernest T. Herndon officiating. There will be no visitation. Entombment will be in the Roselawn Abbey. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, the American HEart Association, 716 Corn Tassel Trail, Martinsville, Va. 24115 or your favorite charity. TOLLIVER, Viola, 74, of Rocky Mount, died Monday, February 17, 1997. Funeral 1 p.m. Monday, Truevine Baptist Church. Arrangements by Stanfield Mortuary Service.

TUNING, LeeRoy J., 76, of Rocky Mount, died Wednesday, February 19, 1997. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Creola Tuning, of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Wanda Wyckoff, Ashbury Park, N. J.; one son, Henry Charles Tuning, Rocky Mount; five sisters, Mrs. Annie Holland, Flint, Michigan, Mrs. Victoria Washington, Brooklyn, N. Y., Mrs. Edith Davis and Mrs. Emma Larry, both of Roanoke, Mrs. Rosetta Tillman, Brooklyn, N.Y.; four brothers, William Tuning, Robert Russell Tuning and Clarence Tuning, all of Rocky Mount, Ernest Tuning, Washington, D.C.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. from the Lovely Valley Baptist Church, with the Rev. James D. Holland officiating. The family will receive friends at Stanfield Mortuary Chapel on Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. Interment in Indian Ridge Church Cemetery.

TURNER, Cecilia Jans Deahl., (Mrs. Robert G. Turner), 87, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, February 22, 1997 at her home. She was born on December 2, 1909 in Alexandria, Va. She received a Bachelor of Design degree from Sophie Newcomb College of Tulane University in 1931. After 20 years of military life, she came with her family to Blacksburg in 1957. She attended Radford College to qualify as school librarian. She was Librarian and Art Teacher of Auburn High School, 1960 to 1972, and a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Turner; three sons, James J. Turner, Grenada, MS, Robert C. Turner, Tucson, AZ and Dr. Robert G. Turner, Jr. Blacksburg; two daughters, Phebe T. White, San Diego, CA. and Jenny T. Castro, Coral Gables, Fla.; and 18 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 1997, at Christ Episcopal Church, Blacksburg, with the Rev. Clara Fisher-Davies officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, requests that donations be made to Christ Episcopal Church, Church and Jackson Streets, Blacksburg, Va. 24060 or the Mental Health Association of the New River Valley, 205 W. Main St., Christiansburg, Va. 24073. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.

TURNER, Jans Deahl, 87, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, February 22, 1997. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home.

WALKER, Alma B., 45, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, February 21, 1997. Funeral services 2 p.m. Monday at Lotz Vinton Chapel.

WIRT, Mary Moss, 81, of Radford, p assed away Friday, February 21, 1997 at Carilion Radford Community Hospital. She was a member of Carter Street United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years and held various offices and performed many duties within the church. She was a very devoted servant of the Lord and a very caring, concerned and loving Mother to her children, which was shown in her everyday life. She was a member of the Quilting Bees which met every Tuesday. She served on the Radford Electoral Board for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Charles Wirt. Survivors include, two sons and their wives, Guy H. and Judy Wirt of Tabb and Marshall N. and Janet Wirt of Radford; one daughter and her husband. Mary Bob and Bobby Spangler of Dublin; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 24, 1997 at 11 a.m. at the Carter Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Julian Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.

WOOLWINE, Carliss E., 61, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 21, 1997, at Lewis-Gale Hospital, Salem. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 1997, at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jerry Sloss, with entombment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
