DIXON, La Eunice, 56, formerly of Elk Creek, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 21, 1997, from her home in Roanoke. She was born November 30, 1940, to the late Randolph and Hazel Johnson Dixon of Elk Creek. Also preceding her in death was one sister, Anna Goins of Galax. She leaves behind to mourn her death two daughters, Dianne King of the home and Victoria King of Winston-Salem, N.C.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Clare Mae and Leroy Holt of Jamaica, N.Y., and Pauline Bradley, and Delores and Douglas Poindexter, all of Roanoke; four brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Elizabeth Dixon of Elk Creek, George Dixon of Great Neck, N.Y., MacArthur and Mary Dixon of Marion, and William and Ann Dixon of Newport News; a special nephew, ``Her Boy,"" Gerald Pratt of Roanoke; a special person, her caregiver, Edna Hurt, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 26, 1997, at Crossroads United Methodist Church, Elk Creek, with the Rev. Angela Hardy and the Rev. George Hash officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery. The body is at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, February 25. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, is in charge of the arrangements.

ELLIS, Dollie Mae Hall, 87, of Salem, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 23, 1997. She was the widow of John W. Ellis, and a lifelong member of Patterson Memorial Grace Brethren Church. Surviving are a daughter, Bett ie M. Staples of Salem; three sons and daughters-in-law, John Ellis Jr. and Bobbie Ellis, Sammy E. and Jane Ellis, and Robert W. and Lynn Ellis, all of Roanoke; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Claudine Halsey of Vinton, and three brothers, Troy Hall and Clyde Hall of Roanoke and Buren Hall of Floyd. Funeral services will be at Oakey's North Chapel at 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 1997, with Pastor Donald E. Eshelman and Pastor Mark Ellis officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. FERGUSON, Fred Henry, 68, of Roanoke, passed away Saturday, February 22, 1997. Survivors include one sister, Shirldean Ross; two nieces, Shirley M. Ross and Linda A. Ross; three nephews, Danny L. Ferguson, Matthew J. Ross, Jr., Kenneth W. Ross, all of Roanoke; four great-nieces; four great-nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. FOLDEN, Ora Lee Parker, 80, of 628 5th Street, N.E., Pulaski, passed away Saturday, February 22, 1997 in the Columbia Pulaski Community Hospital. Born February 27,1916 in Teas, Va., she was the daughter of the late George Alexandria Parker and Effie Catherine Phillippi Parker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lee Folden, Sr. She was also preceded in death by a number of sisters and brothers. She was a member of the Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a retired Nurses Aide from the Columbia Pulaski Community Hospital. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Phyllis Folden) King, Pulaski, Mrs. Thomas ``Tom"" (Linda Folden) Crockett, Wytheville; one son, Clarence Lee (C. L.) Folden, Jr., Barren Springs; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters, Virgie Abell, Arlington, Mildred Rouse, Glade Springs, Viola Adams, Powell, Tenn., Elenor Gentry, Kingsport, Tenn; two brothers, Herbert Parker, Tazewell, Tenn., Robert Parker, Kingsport, Tenn.; special friend, Minnie King, Pulaski. FRIEND, Luther Eugene Sr., 72, of Pulaski, passed away Saturday, February 22, 1997. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Pulaski. Interment will follow in the Swecker Family Cemetery in Wythe County. GRAHAM, Everett A., 86, of Radford, died Saturday, February 22, 1997 at Radford Community Hospital following a short illness. He was a life-long resident of Radford and a member of the Carter St. United Methodist Church. He was the owner of Everett A. Graham Grocery Store until his retirement in 1974. He was among the original cast of the outdoor drama, The Long Way Home and was active in the play for 17 years. He served on the Recreation Commission for the City of Radford for a number of years. He is survived by his wife, Doris S. Graham; two sons, Michael S. Graham and wife Elisabeth of Wilmington, Del., Robert A. Graham and wife Shirley of Mundelin, Ill.; five grandchildren, Marianne and Jim Jarrett of Radford, Christopher A. Graham, Hattiesburg, Miss, Alexandra L. Graham, Atlanta, Ga., Robert A. Graham, Colorado Springs, Colo., James W. Graham, Denver, Colo.; one great-granddaughter, Erica L. Jarrett, Radford; one sister, Madge E. Graham, Radford. MARIANI, Katherine, of Roanoke, the beloved mother of Annemarie Mariani and Frank Palmieri, passed away Friday, February 21, 1997 at 2:35 p.m. She was 90. Originally a native of New York, she and her daughter resided in Roanoke and her son in Rocky Mount for the last ten years. The family will be returning their mother to New York for funeral services at Edwards Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry, New York. Burial services will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hartsdale, N.Y. McPEAK, Cleve Michael, (``Mike""), of 5005 Field-Horney Road, Greensboro, N.C., died Saturday, February 22, 1997, at Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Chapel. Burial will follow in Gilmore Memorial Park. Mr. McPeak was born September 19, 1947, in Pulaski, Va. He attended Sharpe Road Baptist Church, was employed with Lorillard Tobacco Company and was an avid golfer. A loving husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Darlene G. McPeak of the home; daughters and son-in-law, Angela McPeak and Thomas E. Allen of Mebane, N.C., and Jana Leigh McPeak of the home; his mother, Daisy McPeak of Wytheville, Va.; a brother and sister-in-law, R. Thomas and Norma McPeak of Dublin, Va.; a brother-in-law, Jerry L. Gardner and wife Carolyn of Greensboro, N.C., and five nephews. TURNER, Cecilia Jans Deahl., (Mrs. Robert G. Turner), 87, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, February 22, 1997 at her home. She was born on December 2, 1909 in Alexandria, Va. She received a Bachelor of Design degree from Sophie Newcomb College of Tulane University in 1931. After 20 years of military life, she came with her family to Blacksburg in 1957. She attended Radford College to qualify as school librarian. She was Librarian and Art Teacher of Auburn High School, 1960 to 1972, and a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her husband, Robert G. Turner; three sons, James J. Turner, Grenada, MS, Robert C. Turner, Tucson, AZ and Dr. Robert G. Turner, Jr. Blacksburg; two daughters, Phebe T. White, San Diego, CA. and Jenny T. Castro, Coral Gables, Fla.; and 18 grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 1997, at Christ Episcopal Church, Blacksburg, with the Rev. Clara Fisher-Davies officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. WADE, Marion June Vernon, 68, of Vinton. The angels took June to meet Jesus early this Sunday morning, February 23, 1997. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and a woman of integrity whose life was exemplified by Psalm 19:24. The peace she felt in her heart and the way she lived her life touched the lives of all the people she met. She will be missed, but we take comfort in knowing that she is with the friend that sticks closer than a brother. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, James Mack Wade; son and daughter-in-law, Steven Michael and Elaine Wade of Blue Ridge; a stepgrandson, Michael Paul England of Blacksburg; a sister, Norma Patricia (``Patsy"") Thomas of Roanoke, and three brothers, Rayna (``Ronnie"") Vernon of Florence, S.C., Bernard Bruce Vernon of New Castle and David Timothy Vernon of Hardy. Also surviving are three special sisters-in-law, Mary Ann, Reba and Becky, and a brother-in-law, Donnie. WRIGHT, Wanda Leigh, 33, of Buena Vista, died Sunday, February 23, 1997 in the University of Virginia Hospital. Born July 25, 1963 in Lexington, she was the daughter of Regina Coleman Roberts and Roger Roberts of Buena Vista. Surviving, with her paren ts, are her daughters, Tara Nicole Wright and Jessica Leigh Wright, both of Buena Vista; sister, Cindi McFadden of Roanoke; brothers, Donald Wright of Roanoke and Greg Roberts of Buena Vista; paternal father, Albert Wright of Buena Vista; maternal grandparents, Herbert and Myrtle Coleman of Buena Vista; and paternal grandparents, Virginia and Albert Wright of Buena Vista; boyfriend, James A. Collins of Buena Vista. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 1997, at the Lomax Funeral Home Chapel, with Elder Alvin Coleman officiating.
