JUDGE DENIES MURDER SUSPECT BOND

A Roanoke County General District Court judge denied bond Monday for a 56-year-old man charged with first-degree murder.

Paskel "Pete" Tinsley Jr. remains in Roanoke County-Salem Jail, charged with the shooting death of 37-year-old Rick Knoebel early Sunday.

Police said Tinsley and Knoebel were arguing at Tinsley's Rocky Road home on Bent Mountain. There were no witnesses to the killing and detectives did not release details about the argument.

Tinsley also was charged with using a firearm to commit murder.

At Monday's arraignment, lawyer Thomas Blaylock was appointed to represent Tinsley. A bond hearing was scheduled for Wednesday morning.
