MAN CHARGED WITH DEATH OF STUARTS DRAFT FLORIST

Police have arrested an Augusta County man, charging him with capital murder in the death of Stuarts Draft florist Dawn Snyder.

Bobby Wayne Swisher, 21, was arrested at 1 a.m. Monday at his Stuarts Draft home, Augusta County Sheriff Glenn Lloyd said. Swisher's house is not far from the florist shop Snyder co-owned.

Lloyd would not say if Swisher and Snyder were acquainted.

Snyder's body was found in a field on Friday near the Augusta County sewage plant. She vanished Feb. 5 from the flower shop. She was last heard from around 8:15 p.m. A delivery driver later found the back door of the shop open and Snyder gone.

Lloyd said earlier that there were no indications that she was sexually assaulted. Police have not released the cause of death.
