* Fralin and Waldron Inc. of Roanoke will be contractor for construction of the Springwood Assisted Living complex in Fairfax County. The project is financed by an $8.2 million loan placed by Highland Mortgage Co. of Richmond.

* Bright Services, a Roanoke temporary employment company, said it has opened a Lynchburg branch. The company, which supplies industrial office, technical and professional employees, also has offices in Christiansburg, Pulaski County and Wytheville.
