Pulaski County residents who believe they have ideas on how to improve their schools and education will get a chance to make them heard at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Superintendent Bill Asbury has scheduled an open forum for that time in Edwards Hall at New River Community College.
The gathering is a brainstorming session on the 1997-98 school budget, which is still being prepared. Asbury wants participants to consider this question: "What are two suggestions you would make that would improve the teaching and learning environment in our school division?"
Some teachers, school administrators and parents have already been involved in the budget preparation process. The session Thursday will be a chance for all those with an interest to express their thoughts.
