Play performances
WYTHEVILLE - Performances of Neil Simon's comedy, "California Suite," are under way at Wytheville Community College in the Grayson Hall Commons.
The play opened over the weekend, with its remaining performances at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $4 ($3 for students and seniors). Tickets can be reserved by calling 223-4795 or purchased at the door.
The action centers around guests in the same hotel suite, with each act presenting a new couple and a new set of problems.
Anne Harrison and Walt Brown play a divorced couple exchanging barbed quips as they argue over where their daughter will live. Joe Burnett plays a husband who wakes up with a stranger in bed as his wife, played by Sandra Montgomery, walks in. Tracie Patch and Roger Grubb play visitors from England attending the Academy Awards and having a few drinks too many to cope with the stress of the evening. And finally two couples, played by Don Byrne, Mary Henslee, Kevin Lightle and Cassa Jarvis, join in the proverbial vacation from hell.
