ARCHER, Harrison McTeer Sr., (``Hass""), 96, of Max Meadows, died Sunday, March 2, 1997. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Barnett Funeral Chapel in Wytheville. Visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

BRADBURY, Freida, 60, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, March 1, 1997 in a local hospital. Surviving are a daughter, Debra W. Carico; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Roy and Donna Bradbury, Roger L. Montgomery, all of Roanoke; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers in Hillsville; a very special family, the Cooper family; and many special family and friends. She was ``Mom"" to everybody. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, with the Rev. Dave Snead officiating. Interment will be at Parnell Cemetery in Hillsville, 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Bobby Akers officiating. BROOKS, Nena Belle Brown, 86, of Union Hall, died Saturday, March 1, 1997. She attended Radford College and received her teaching certificate. She taught in the Franklin County School System. Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Edgar Brooks, of the home; her children, Edgar Clinton Brooks, of the home, James Euell and Barbara W. Brooks, Chatham, Neva and Donnie Farris, Rocky Mount, Mamie and Mike Browning, Smyrna, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Pam and Dean Ferguson, Anne Farris and her friend, Brian Loomis, Lindsay Farris, Niccole Browning, Shane Browning, Jim Browning, Joshua Browning; one sister, Verneda Dudley, Rocky Mount; two half sisters, Mary Frances Graham, Boones Mill, Virginia Gallagher of Utah; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Woodrow and Edith Brooks, Rocky Mount; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. J. Larry Holland officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Glade Hill Rescue Squad, Rt 1, Box 82, Glade Hill, Va. 24092. COLEMAN, Robert A. Sr., 89, of Roanoke, died Friday, February 28, 1997. Bob leaves to forever cherish hi s memories his wife, Frances, and four children, Lelia Fairfax and Karen Coleman of Los Angeles, Calif., and Robert A. (Terresia) Coleman Jr. and Beverly (William) Bratton of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, Myoshoa D. Warren, Monique R. Warren and Adam C. Warren, Natisha R. Coleman, Robert A Coleman III, Yolanda N. Coleman, and Ashle S. Stewart of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Richard Coleman of Bronx, N.Y.; a devoted niece, Cornelia C. Campbell of Lynchburg; devoted nephews, Oliver M. Burnette of Wyndanch, N.Y., and William H. Burnette of Washington, D.C.; sisters-in-law, Lucy Coleman and Ethel Coleman of Norfolk, and Iris Saunders and Hortense Woods of Roanoke, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Jerusalem Baptist Church, with Dr. Eugene Young officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Memorial Park. CRUEY, Ammie, Bales, 87, of Roanoke, died Sunday, March 2, 1997. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.

FERGUSON, Anna Vernon Booth, 88, passed on Sunday morning, March 2, 1997, at Berkshire Nursing Home in Vinton, where she had been in residence since October. Mrs. Ferguson was the widow of Jabe Showalter Ferguson and came with him to Roanoke from Franklin County as a young bride. She was a talented and thrifty homemaker, mother, gardener and seamstress who seemed to carry most of her wisdom in her skillful hands. Like many women of her time, she possessed a grace that was a combination of charm, religious faith and true grit. She made her home in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Roanoke until recent years. She is mourned and survived by her son, Jabe S. Ferguson II of Narrows; her granddaughter, Kay Ferguson Bechtel of Charlottesville; her great-grandchildren, Adam and Lilly Bechtel of Charlottesville and Kellie Nicole Ferguson of Rural Retreat; her brothers and sisters, William H. Booth of Vinton, Robert P. Booth of WIrtz, Ruth B. Cook of Vinton, Gladys B. Feathers of Roanoke, Myrtle B. DeLong of Moneta, Annie F. Booth of Vinton and Gerald J. Booth of Vinton, and by her very special friend, Joe Helms of Roanoke. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 3, and a memorial service will be held at noon Tuesday, March 4, both at Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton.

KEY, Roy C., 92, of Roanoke, died Sunday, March 2, 1997. Mr. Key was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, a 50-year member of Melrose Masonic Lodge #139 A.F.&A.M., and a former member of Villa Heights Lions Club. Mr. Key is survived by his wife, Catherine H. Key of Roanoke; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard J. and Sue G. Key of Franklin County, and Randolph E. and Shirl ey R. Harrison of Roanoke; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and sisters, Elizabeth K. Smiley of Roanoke and Katherine K. Whorley of North Carolina. McCOY, Lyda Croy, 86, of McCoy, entered in eternal rest to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 1, 1997, at her home. Born in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Brady Clifton and Lonnie Jordan Stafford Croy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Griffen McCoy and a son, Eddie Pat McCoy. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Audrey M. and Waldo ``Bo"" Albert, McCoy; a daughter-in-law, Nancy T. McCoy, Christiansburg; four grandchildren, Teresa K. McCoy, Sherry A. Dodson, Ramona M. Scott and Pam A. Burrell; six great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary C. and Oakley A. Lilly, Christiansburg, Pauline C. McCoy, McCoy; one brother and sister-in-law, John David and Elva Croy, Burelson, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Jewel D. Croy and Racheal S. McCoy, both of McCoy. MUSSELMAN, Cora Moles, 102, of Ormond Beach, Fla., former long-time resident of Montgomery County, died Friday, February 28, 1997 in Ormond Beach, Fla. She was a life-time member of the Baptist Church and was the widow of John A. (Bud) Musselman. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews, including Gladys Stapf of Ormond Beach, Fla., Ray Knox, Blackstone, and Rebecca Sue. PHILLIPPE, Ronald Eugene, 29, of Moneta, died Friday, February 28, 1997 as a result of the sport he loved best. It was his dream to be a world champion bull r ider. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Jim and Nora Wade, his grandmother, Ruth Wade DePierro. Surviving are his wife, Amy Lynn Phillippe; two daughters, Jamie Leigh and Kasey Leigh Phillippe; mother, Barbara Wade P. Goad; father, Donald C. Phillippe; stepfather, William P. Goad; grandparents, Virginia and E. C. Phillippe; sister, Deborah K. Phillippe; brother, Barry K. Phillippe; former wife, Wanda Young; nieces, Brittney Smith and Cierra Phillippe; nephew, Bobby Smith; his beloved dog, Duke Lee; and a number of aunts and uncles and a lot of special friends. SHICK, Homer C., 86, of Friendship Manor, Roanoke, died Saturday, March 1, 1997. He was a native of Pennsylvania and had retired from Lone Star Cement Company after 43 years of service. Mr. Shick was a membe r of St. Phillip Lutheran Church and a member of the Catawba Masonic Lodge #342. Surviving are his wife, Florence K. Shick; son and daughter-in-law, Peter G. and Pat Shick, Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Louise S. and Wes Jargowsky, Troutville; also six grandchildren, Cliff Shick, Roanoke, Matthew Shick, Fork Union, A. Frank Jargowsky, Charlottesville, Karen E. Jargowsky, Troutville, Adam Gray, Roanoke and Laura Gray, Roanoke; also a sister, Dorothy Scheer, Blairstown, N. J. SIMPSON, Oakey Hall, 92, of Roanoke, died Sunday, March 2, 1997. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Mrs. Simpson was the widow of Thomas M. Simpson, and is survived by two daughters, Mary Frances Williams and husband, Irvin E. of Goodview, and Nancy S. Young and fiance, Richard Shively of Roanoke; her sisters, Roxie Mutter of North Carolina and Bera Walton of Salem; seven grandchildren, Tommy Williams, Terry Williams and Tim Williams, Melissa Price, Tammy Bailey, Todd Hamilton and Heather Young, and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Lotz Roanoke Chapel at 12 noon Tuesday, March 4, 1997, with the Rev. Carter L. Sloan officiating. SINK, Whorley Willard, 89, of Roanoke, passed away in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Sunday morning, March 2, 1997. He attended Enon Baptist Church and retired 24 years ago from Hotel Roanoke, where he was Assistant Chief Engineer for many years. Surviving are his wife, Hattie Florence Meador Sink; daughter and son-in-law, Edwana and Ronald Long of Roanoke; son and daughter-in-law, Willard and Sharon Sink of Winston-Salem, N.C.; grandchildren, Tary, Jason, and Kim Thacker, Michelle Calhoun, Stephen, Kendra, Cherryel and Bethany Sink; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Gabrielle and Savannah Thacker, Jonathan Calhoun, and Jacob Sink; brother, Lewis Sink; sisters, Rachel Pillow, Dealie Lovell and Beulah Holland. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Moody, Oscar and Albert Sink, and Dotsie Martin. ST. CLAIR, James W., (``T""), 77, of Vinton, passed away Sunday, March 2, 1997, in a local hospital. He was a retired local antiques dealer. He also served with the U.S. Army during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Myra (``Mikey"") Q. St.Clair; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy S. and Boyd (``Junior"") Folden of Vinton; a sister-in-law, Fannie St. Clair; a special sister-in-law, Pauline Q. West, and a nephew, Wayne R. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Wells, his father, Sealy J. Wells, Jr., a sister, Carole Sue Grose, grandmother, Nannie Wells (Mom), grandfather, Sealy J. Wells, Sr., grandmother, Lura Pugh, grandfather, J oe Pugh.
