South Florida completed a three-game sweep of the Virginia Tech baseball team with a 13-1 victory Sunday in Tampa, Fla.
The 17th-ranked Bulls allowed the Hokies little offense other than Kevin Kurilla's third-inning solo home run. South Florida scored four runs in the fourth inning and six unearned in the fifth.
Tech freshman and Franklin County High School graduate Gray Hodges was 2-for-5 with a double and a stolen base.

* North Carolina-Wilmington pitcher Jason Roach struck out eight and gave up one run in eight innings as the Seahawks downed Radford 9-1 in a baseball game in Wilmington, N.C.
* Virginia Tech shot a team score of 292 in the final round and finished 13th at the Matlock Collegiate Classic golf tournament in Lakeland, Fla. Augusta fired a final-round 284 to complete a seven-shot victory over Wake Forest.
Greg Green of Georgia Southern finished at 11-under par 205 and won individual medalist honors by four strokes. Robby Rasmussen led the Hokies with a 4-under 68 for a 217 total and tied with teammate Brad Hyler, who shot 73.
* The Virginia Tech men's track team won the 1,600-meter relay at the IC4A Indoor Track and Field Championships in Princeton, N.J.
ETC. Cabbler 3rd in indoor triple jump
Former William Fleming High School star Monica Cabbler placed third in the triple jump Saturday at the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Cabbler, who graduated from the University of Georgia in December, leaped a personal-best 43 feet, 73/4 inches.
* Carter Center Aquatics compiled 3,560 points to win the team competition at the Virginia Swimming A/BB Championships at the Dedmon Center pool in Radford. The Roanoke Gators finished fourth in the final team standings.
Carter Center Aquatics swimmers placed first in four events Sunday. In the boys' 10-and-under division, Case Blackwell won the 200-yard individual medley. Brian Palmer won the 200 individual medley in the boys' 11-12 division. In the girls' 15-18 division, Blair Huffman finished first in the 200 backstroke and Mandy Lippitt won the 1,650 freestyle.
The Roanoke Gators qualified 15 swimmers in 39 state Junior Olympic events. The Roanoke Gator qualifiers include Emily Hurt, Tyler Bradshaw, Keira Elkin, Megan Read, Will Urbanski, Jeff Collier, Erin Tudor, Kris McKinney, Keaton Hurt, Emery Wallace, Maisie Leach, Claire Dickey, John Hunter, Kevin Boucher and Brett Fonder in the 14-and-under divisions. Beth Wagner qualified in seven events in the girls' 15-18 division.
* Jeff Wendell of Roanoke, driving a Dodge Neon, finished third in a Sports Club Car of America race at Road Atlanta. Wendell was voted the hard-charger award after being spun and having to pass nearly half the field to finish third.
