Security flaw found in Microsoft browser
REDMOND, Wash. - Microsoft Corp. said a potentially harmful security flaw was found in the latest version of its Internet Explorer browsing software.
The flaw could let malicious Internet publishers delete files, copy passwords and software and send orders to transfer money by manipulating files stored on another person's personal computer, said Paul Greene, Brian Morin and Geoffrey Elliott, students at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts who discovered the bug.
Microsoft said it hasn't had any customer reports of people having encountered the problem, but it plans to publish information about the flaw on its Web page later today and will post a software fix for the bug within the next 48 hours.

United to give pilots 10% pay raises
CHICAGO - United Airlines settled a dispute with its employee owners, agreeing to 10 percent pay raises over two years for its pilots and mechanics, the airline and unions said Monday.
United also agreed to restore in 2000 the rest of the wages and pension benefits the unions gave up when an employee stock ownership plan took effect in 1994. The pilots had threatened to scuttle the ESOP when it expires in 2000 if they failed to get back the economic package they gave up in return for a 55 percent share in the company.
