ASBURY, Judy Ann Lee, 46, of 121 Carriage Hill Dr., Pulaski, died Sunday, March 2, 1997, in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born in Bluefield, W.Va. on June 26, 1950, the daughter of the late Robe rt E. Lee, Jr. She was a member of the New River Valley Baptist Church, Pulaski, Va. Surviving are her husband, Danny Asbury, Pulaski; son, Keith Asbury, Pulaski; mother, Alice M. Lee, Bluefield, W. Va.; three sisters, Barbara Maculation, Bluefield, Va., Linda Simpson, Russiaville, Ind., Carolyn Williams, Frankfort, Ind..; brother, Robert E. Lee, III, Raleigh, N.C. A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the New River Valley Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Adkins officiating. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Willis (Bill) Barrow; two sons and a daughter, Willis Connely Barrow of Norfolk, Mrs. Linda Barrow Gusler of Martinsville and Lindsey B. BREEDEN, Delmas Allen, 50, of Natural Bridge Station, died Saturday, March 1, 1997, at the Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Lexington. Mr. Breeden was born in Rockbridge County on January 9, 1947, and was a son of Welford E. Breeden and Blanche Johnson Breeden of Natural Bridge Station. He worked for Burlington Industries. He was preceded in death by a brother, Verylin Breeden. In addition to his parents, he is survived by three children, Delmas Allen Breeden Jr., Forest, Angela Dawn Breeden, Robert Nicholas Breeden, both of Lexington; two brothers, W. David Breeden and William C. Breeden, both of Natural Bridge Station; and one grandson. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 5, 1997, at 1 p.m. at the Arnold's Valley Southern Baptist Church, Natural Bridge Station, with Rev. Donald Stine and Rev. COLLINS, Ethel Marie, 71, of Old Orchard Place, P earisburg, died Saturday morning, March 1, 1997 at her home. Born in West Virginia on May 8, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Paul A. and Nannie McDaniel Wickline. She was preceded in death by three husbands, Silven Ray Martin, James William Davis and Clifton Collins and two brothers, John Arden Wickline and Arnold Lee Wickline. Surviving are three sons and a daughter, Kenneth Ray Martin of Narrows, William Frank Davis and wife, Sandra of Narrows, and John Walter Davis and wife, Darlene of Pembroke, Patricia Gwen Klaes and husband, August of Laurel, Md.; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Davis, Daniel Davis, Demi Davis, Ciara Davis and August Claire ``Casey"" Klaes III; and many friends. Memorial services will be conducted 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 1997 in the Clendennin Jesus Church near Narrows with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. CRUEY, Ammie Bales, 87, of Roanoke, went to be with her Lord on Sunday afternoon, March 2, 1997. She was born November 2 , 1909 in Falls Mills, Va., the daughter of the late Charles Thomas Bales and Martha Rena Bales. Mrs. Cruey was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison H. Cruey, a son, Raymond H. Cruey, and a grandson, James A. Workman. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne St.Clair (Joyce), Vinton, Doris Workman, Roanoke; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Lester (Ruth), Johnson City, Tenn., Mrs. Ollie Chittum, Vinton; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 1997 at 2 p.m. from Edgewood Christian Church, with Minister Fred C. Lester, Minister Larry D. Atkin and Minister David W. DICKSON, Marjorie Beverage, 86, of Roanoke, died Monday, March 3, 1997, in a Roanoke hospital. She was the widow of Byron Dickson Sr., a member of the DAR, active in amateur golf and very active in duplicate bridge. She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church, and a member of the Grand Chapter of OES. Surviving are her son, Byron R. Dickson Jr. of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Byron R. (``Trae"") Dickson III and Gwendolyn Ren Dickson Goodman of Roanoke, and three great-grandchildren. She was born in Carroll County on December 13, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Lawrence Horsley and Ruby Sumner Horsley. She was a graduate of Radford College. She was a retired Pulaski High School teacher, where she taught for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pulaski, having been a member for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivor Kermit Newman. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mark (Kathy) Hastings, Pittsburgh, Pa.; two sisters, Dorothy Hudgins, Hudgins, Janice Whitt, Winston-Salem, N.C.; two granddaughters, Lauren Hastings, Tory Hastings, both of Pittsburgh, Pa. REYNOLDS, Francis Edward, 95, of Waiteville, W.Va., died Sunday, March 2, 1997, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Jimmy (Dorothy) Harry of Waiteville, with whom he had made his home for the past nine years. He was a retired farmer, a member of First Baptist Church at Newport, Va., and a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army. He was born in Newport, Va. on January 28, 1902, son of the late Miles Washington Reynolds and Nanny Ellen Hypes Reynolds. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jimmy (Dorothy) Harry, Waiteville, W.Va.; five grandchildren, James David Harry, New Castle, Laura Harry, Kathy Curran, Delores Baughs, all of Roanoke, and Kathy Thornsbury of New Castle; one great-grandchild, Nathaniel Lee Harry, New Castle; two special little friends, Tabetha N. She was born May 31, 1931 in Stone, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Ernest Clopton and Thelma Lee Fitzwater Palmer. She worked 20 years at the Staffordsville Country Store and was co-owner of the Saunders Produce Market, Poplar Hill. She is survived by her husband, Clyde L. Saunders, Staffordsville; one son, Mike and his wife, Rose Mary Saunders, Staffordsville; one daughter, Patricia S. Midkiff, Staffordsville; four brothers, Clarence Palmer, Edmon Palmer and Frederick Palmer, all of Staffordsville, Roger Palmer, Rockville, Mc.; three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Nabors, Radford, Mrs. Nancy Stump, Staffordsville, Mrs. Rose Neal, Pearisburg; five grandchildren, Glorie and husband, David Priest, Carmen Vaught, John C. SHANER, Lolita Rogers, 96, of Lexington, died Sunday, March 2, 1997. She was born September 27, 1900, in Buena Vista, the daughter of the late Luther Scott Rogers and Ada Stinnett Rogers. The widow of Joe Colon Shaner Sr., she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ann Shaner Cheatham; and grandson, Joe Colon Shaner III. She is survived by her son, Joe Colon Shaner Jr.; four grandchildren, Catherine Shaner Carlock, Mitchell Dahl Shaner, Mark William Shaner, and Christopher Randolph Cheatham; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard M. Rogers; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Shaner was a lifelong member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was active in the church circle. She was a charter member of the Stonewall Jackson Hospital Auxiliary, and a member of the East Lexington Home Demonstration Club. She was honored as a lifetime member of the Lexington Garden Club. A graveside service will be held at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery in Lexington on Wednesday, March 5, at 3 p.m. The service will be officiated by Dr. Thomas Harvey and the Rev. Mr. Shick was a member of St. Phillip Lutheran Church and a member of the Catawba Masonic Lodge #342. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Florence K. Shick; son and daughter-in-law, Peter G. and Pat Shick, Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Louise S. and Wes Jargowsky, Troutville; also six grandchildren, Cliff Shick, Roanoke, Matthew Shick, Fork Union, A. STUART, Alfreda Saunders, 77, of Roanoke, passed away at her residence on Monday, March 3, 1997. She is survived by her husband, Everett Stuart of Roanoke; two daughters, M. Frederica Monk and Beverly W. Kasey of Roanoke; four granddaughters; one grandson; two great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Pamela Wilmont of Bridgeport, Conn.; a stepson, Everett Stuart Jr., and other relatives. THOMPSON, Raymond Samuel, (Pe-Paw''), 78, of Buchanan, died Sunday, March 2, 1997. He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Thompson; daughter, Brenda Gilliam; grandson, Richard Gilliam Jr.; great-granddaughter, Billie Jo Sifford; and sisters, Beulah Stinnett and Mary Trueblood. Mr. Thompson was a carpenter by trade and a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Beryl Rice Thompson; daughters and sons-in-law, Jane T. Dudley and special friend, Todd Hopkins, Becky and Larry Thompson, Richard Gilliam, all of Buchanan; son and daughters-in-law, Mike and Carolyn Thompson, Buchanan, Rosemary Thompson, Salem; sisters, Arlene Mays, Richmond, Margaret Fitzgerald, Roanoke; 12 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 5, 1997, at 2 p.m. in the Arcadia Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Woody and Rev. Don McCaskill officiating. TRUSLOW, Viola Noel, 97, of Buena Vista, died Sunday, March 2, 1997, in the Heritage Hall Nursing Home. Born January 8, 1900 in Bedford County, she was the daughter of the late William and Laura Garvin Noel. Mrs. Truslow was a member of Jehovah Witness North Congregation, Lexington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Lockridge Truslow; two sons, William C. Truslow and Lawrence E. Truslow. She is survived by a daughter, Helen T. Fox, Buena Vista; a son, James L. Truslow, Buena Vista; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 1997, at the Lomax Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Morgan Chewning officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. WIEBKE, Donald L., of Roanoke passed away Sunday, March 2, 1997 at his home. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Mr. Wiebke retired after 36 years service from General Electric. Surviving are his wife, Mary L. Wiebke; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Nancy Wiebke, St. Louis, Missouri, Mark and Amy Wiebke, Charlotte, N.C., Paul and Pam Wiebke, Durham, N.C.; four grandchildren, Daniel Wiebke, Katie Wiebke, Sarah Webke and Emma Wiebke; and a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Christline, Sterling, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Adult Daycare Center of the Roanoke Valley or a charity of one's choice. Following a private memorial service the family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's North Chapel
YOUNG, Freda McAlexander, 85, of Bluefield, W.Va., and formerly of Floyd County, passed away Sunday, March 2, 1997. She was the widow of Alver Pershing Young. Surviving are one son, Kenneth L. Young, Bluefield, W.Va.; one brother, Abraham McAlexander, Bassett; one sister, Frances Woodring, Baltimore, Md.; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren. Graveside memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Lee Cemetery (Tuggles Gap), Floyd, with Rev. Graham Mitchell officiating. Arrangements are by Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd. There will be no visitation.
