The Floyd County Sheriff's Office tracked down two school buses missing Monday morning at the high school after one was used to crash through a locked gate.
Chief Deputy Shannon Zeman said a school employee reported the buses missing about 7 a.m. and officers found them within 20 minutes. Zeman said the buses had been taken and parked somewhere else. He said he did not want to specify where until further investigation is completed in the case.
Mike Carr, school transportation supervisor, said one bus was at Floyd County High School and was moved. A second bus, No. 19, was taken from the bus garage near the high school after the suspect drove it through a locked gate, he said. The only damage to the bus was a broken mirror.
None of the students dependent on the buses for transportation was late because a spare bus was able to take over for No. 19.
Zeman said the investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
