Michael O'Brien, a Christian contemporary music artist, will perform at 7 p.m. March 22 in the ballroom of the Clarion Hotel, 2727 Ferndale Drive N.W. Admission is $5 at the door. A love offering will be taken. For more information, call Spirit FM at 774-9798.

Sharon Porter Shull will present a program of Lenten music at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 42 E. Main St., Salem. Shull will perform works by Pachelbel, Walther, Reincken, Scheidemann and J.S. Bach.

Jeff Hill, a Christian country recording artist, will be in concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at Grace United Methodist Church, 4404 Williamson Road. Hill won the 1995 Song of the Year Award for "Come on Home."

David Robertson, a Christian contemporary musician, will perform at Parkway Wesleyan Church, 3230 King St. N.E., for Super Sunday, March 23, at the 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. services. Special activities, including an Easter egg hunt and pony rides, will continue throughout the day for children and youth. Call 342-3968 for more information.

"From Gethsemane to Glory", a musical narrative, will be held at First Church of the Nazarene, 728 Highland Ave. S.E., on Good Friday, March 28, at 7 p.m. Call 342-4003 for more information.

"Crucified With Christ ... And Yet I Live," a musical for Easter, will be held at Garden City Baptist Church, 3536 Garden City Blvd., at 11 a.m. March 30. The event is arranged by Michael Frazier and Dale Matthew and orchestrated by Jim Gray.

Thaxton Baptist Church, 1067 Penick's Mill Road, will be presenting a special Palm Sunday dramatic and musical adaptation of Bill and Gloria Gaither's "Then Came the Morning" at 7 p.m. March 23 in the church sanctuary.

An Interdenominational Praise and Worship Gathering will be held at Rockingham Court United Methodist Church, 4615 Bryan Road, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Dr. Randall A. McChesney, president and director of the Richards Institute of Education Through Music in Los Angeles, will be the guest clinician for a workshop for seven area adult choirs Friday and Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 2101 S. Jefferson St. The Saturday workshop will be followed by a concert that's open to the public at 3 p.m.

Roanoke Second Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5836 Cotton Hill Road, will present the musical cantata "From Cumorah's Hill" at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Ward Building. The choir will be led by Sue Hodge. The Baptist Men's Union of Roanoke will celebrate its 57th anniversary at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, 1810 Grayson Ave. N.W., at 3 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Noel C. Taylor, along with the male chorus and congregation of High Street Baptist Church, will be guests sharing the services.

"First Perk," an evening of gourmet coffee, desserts and entertainment, will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 2101 S. Jefferson St., from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday in the fellowship hall. Admission is $5. A nursery will be provided.

Hollins Road Church of the Brethren, 2404 Hollins Road N.E., will hold a spaghetti dinner from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $4. |PEOPLE| The Rev. Dr. Harold S. Moyer, pastor of Williamson Road Church of the Brethren, will be presented with an Outstanding Service Award from Bridgewater College at a banquet Tuesday.
