NOMINEES SOUGHT FOR VOLUNTEER AWARD

Nominations for the JCPenney Golden Rule Award are being accepted through April 11. The award, begun in 1990, is presented annually to groups and individuals in recognition for volunteer contributions to their community.

The program will honor two adult and/or group volunteers, one youth, one education volunteer and five finalists from the Roanoke and New River valleys and Botetourt County. The winners will be chosen by a panel of community leaders.

Golden Rule recipients will receive an award, as well as a $1,000 grant to the nonprofit agencies they support. Local winners are then eligible to compete for a national award. Finalists will receive certificates and $250 grants to the organizations they have served.

Nomination forms are available by contacting Kara Norment at the Council of Community Services, 985-0131.
