GROGAN, Gloria Delitha, 68, of Roanok e, passed away Friday, March 14, 1997. She was born in Franklin County to the late Jolly and Rebecca Hurt Childress. At an early age she joined the Bellevue Baptist Church in Hardy, and later joined her husband at Bent Mountain Baptist Church in Roanoke. She retired from the Roanoke City Public Schools, where she worked as a teacher's aid. Survivors include her husband, Owen M. Grogan Sr.; one daughter, Gloria Rena (George) Ferguson; two sons, Owen M. (Susan) Grogan Jr., and Jeffrey Wayne Grogan, all of Roanoke; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; sisters-in-law, Bertha Tyree, Dove Ann Burns, and Hannah Lee Williams; brothers-in-law, Samuel (Naomi) Grogan, Lewis Grogan, William Grogan, Joseph (Mary) Grogan, and Clarence Grogan, all of Roanoke; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Monday, 2 p.m., at the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel. Dr. J. Eugene Young will officiate with the interment in Williams Memorial Park. HARRIS, Della Inez, 81, of Woodlawn, passed away Thursday, March 13, 1997, in Twin County Regional Hospital. She was born in Carroll County on July 30, 1915, to Samuel Jackson Burnette and Bertha Landreth Burnette. In addition to her parents, she was pre ceded in death by her husband, Elwin Harris. She is survived by two sons, Robert Virgil Harris, Ypsilanti, Mich., S. Jack Harris, Galax; a sister, Ivan Wilson, Galax; four grandchildren, Suzanne Ruth Harris, Steven Robert Harris, Michael Jackson Harris, Mary Jacquline Largen; four great-grandchildren. The funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in First Christian Church with the Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. HICKS, Leona Ruth, 67, of Salem, passed away Thursday, March 13, 1997. Funeral 11 a.m. Saturday, John M. Oakey and Son Chapel, Salem.

HOLLINGSWORTH, Harry H., 72, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, March 13, 1997. He was a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II serving in Europe and a Recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 199, V.F.W. Post 2447, member of the 40 and 8 Voiture #1104, he was also a member of Southview United Methodist Church and former Trustee of the Church. He was a past Trustee of the local 171 Teamsters, lifetime member of Botetourt Jaycees, past member of the 300 Club and Moose Lodge. Mr. Hollingsworth was retired from Associated Transport with 23 years of service. He was a part time employee with Hertz Rental Car. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Betty M. Hollingsworth; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Glaydene Hollingsworth, Ronald Hollingsworth, Samuel and Patti Hollingsworth; grandchildren, Chuck, Bruce and Adam Hollingsworth, Cynthia Peterson, Katie, Ryan and Eric Hollingsworth; nephew, Steve Hollingsworth; sister-in-law and husband, Bebe and Barry Sweitzer. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 17, 1997 at Oakey's North Chapel with Rev. George M. Pearson Jr., officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. HUDSON, Mary Addie, 81, of Rocky Mount, passed away Thursday, March 13, 1997. She was born May 31, 1915. Surviving are a daughter, Reba Carter of Rocky Mount; granddaughter and her husband, Debra Carter and Norman Simpson of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two grandsons, Gregory L. and wife, Kimberly F. Carter of Christiansburg, Gary S. Carter of Rocky Mount; two great-grandchildren, LeAnna Carter and Donavan Simpson; half sister, Betsy Hall of Rocky Mount; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 1997, at Lynch Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Keith Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Boones Mill. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Saturday. LAWSON, Carol Chatneuff, of Roanoke, formerly of Raleigh, N.C., went to be with her maker on F riday, March 14, 1997. Carol was retired from Bell Atlantic, and was a past member of the Junior League of Roanoke, the Roanoke Assembly and Second Presbyterian Church. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Lacy and Hal Chatneuff of Raleigh, N.C., and her precious nephew, Lucas Phillips Lawson of Roanoke. She is survived by her wonderful son, Lee Trinkle Lawson Jr.; brother, Lacy M. Chatneuff and wife, Julie of Roswell, Ga.; brother, Julian Chatneuff of Orinda, Calif.; brother, George Chatneuff and wife, Cindy of Floyd, and many nieces, nephews and close friends that she loved very much. Friends may call at her home from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 1997. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 17, 1997, at the Chapel of Second Presbyterian Church. The Rev. E. LINKOUS, Russell E., 80, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 13, 1997, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mr. Linkous was a well-known building contractor in Montgomery County for over 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Christine C. Linkous of Christiansburg; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Earl Beatty, Franklin Springs, Ga., Carol and Sid Bishop, Kill Devil Hills, N.C., Sheryl and Jay Burk, Shawsville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Mary Linkous, Lawrenceville, Ga., Russell Jr. and Clara Linkous, Germantown, Tenn., Don and Carol Linkous, Blacksburg; two sisters, Edna Linkous and Millie Gay Martin, both of Blacksburg; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a special brother-in-law and his wife, Dr. Carl and Mildred Collins, Daleville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 15, 1997, at 2 p.m. in the Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. Jerry Sloss officiating. LIPPART, Sibyl Laverne, of Frederick, Md., died Thursday, March 13, 1997. She was the beloved mother of Joseph Edward Lippart, Leo Vern Lippart Jr., John Charles Lippart and Patricia L. Brown; sister of Kenton M. Duckworth and Alice D. Craft, and grandmother of eight. PARROTT, Madeleine Frazier, of Greensboro, N.C., passed away Thursday, March 13, 1997. Mrs. Parrott was a member of Trinity Church. She was also a member of AA for 15 years. Mrs. Parrott was predeceased by her parents, James Taylor Frazier and Dorothy Connally Frazier; brother, James Taylor Frazier Jr.; and her husband, Mr. Benjamin Fitzhugh Parrott Jr. Mrs. Parrott is survived by her sister, Mrs. Betty Claire Winterholler of Charleston, W.Va.; her longtime companion, Lou Huston of Greensboro, N.C.; brother-in-law, John C. Parrott II and wife, Sarahbelle Parrott; sister-in-law, Mary Wise Parrott Bullington, all of Roanoke; sons, Benjamin Fitzhugh Parrott III and wife, Kathryn F. SIFFORD, Robert Hoge, 85, of Norris Run Community, died Thursday, March 13, 1997, at his home. Robert was born in Pulaski County on July 10, 1911 to the late John William and Louindia ``Tommy'' McCoy Sifford, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Louise Hutchison Sifford; and a daughter, Dorothy Christine ``Tiny'' Sheppard. Mr. Sifford worked in the coal mines for 27 years and later retired from Va. Tech Power Plant after 17 years of service. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert V. and Conelia Sifford, Blacksburg, Curtis H. Sifford, Glen Lyn, Stanley L. and Ann Sifford, Summerville, S.C.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Loveda and Odell Price, Janet and Jimmy Shaver, all of Blacksburg, Loretta and Tommy Corvin, Thaxton; four grandsons; 13 granddaughters; eight great-grandsons; 15 great-granddaughters; one sister, Stella Fain, Blacksburg; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Leslie and Metabelle Jarrels, Rev. and Mrs. Layne Board, Oak and Joyce Sheppard, and Colleen Izzo.
