A Vinton man involved in a two-vehicle accident that killed a Bedford couple Saturday afternoon has died.
James Johnson, 52, died at 6 a.m. Sunday at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Jessie Willard Goad, 79, and his wife, Katie Fortner Goad, 68, died at the scene of the accident on Va. 43 in Huddleston.
Johnson, headed north on 43, lost control of his car as he crested a hill and the car spun to the side before hitting the Goads' southbound station wagon head-on, state police said.
